Haina Kalahari Lodge Central Kalahari Desert Botswana

Welcome to Haina Kalahari Lodge on the northern border of the Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana. Classically African, relaxed and informal accommodation is offered in luxury safari tents. The main boma of wood and thatch houses the lounge, dining room and bar area. Mobile overnight and day trip safaris are offered into the Game Reserve. Activities on offer include game drives, quad bike safari and an unforgettable experience with the local Bushmen people.

The setting of Haina Kalahari Lodge is classically African, relaxed and informal. The Main Boma consists of a lounge, dining room and bar area decorated in wood and thatch. A swimming pool, sun deck, well-appointed bar and an expansive boma eating area are among the facilities available to visitors. The sundeck is a popular spot for social activities and for exchanging accounts of the various sightings of birds and animals seen during the day. The Lodge accommodates up to 20 guests in tented accommodation which are all private with their own decks.

Accommodation

The Lodge has 6 Standard Tents that consists of a bedroom and en-suite bathroom with a shower and toilet,
and three Luxury Tents with thatch roofs, large decks and full bathrooms. All units are furnished in
subtle earth tones and dark woods in a contemporary African theme and reflect the bush area.

We also have a Family Tent, built around the trees with one King Size bed and 2 3/4 beds.

Activities
Guided drives by experienced and knowledgeable guides to view the game, teeming bird life and surrounding areas is the most popular pastime.

For the less adventurous time may be spent absorbing the sun, enjoying a 360-degree view and sampling the delectable fare provided by the resident chef.

Brakah Campsite
Brakah Campsite is located 3km from the Haina's main gate amongst the characteristic Kalahari savannah.

There are 5 separate sites (max 5 pax per site), ablution blocks with hot & cold showers, flush toilets & separate washing up facilities. No electricity is provided & water is not recommended for drinking due to high salt content. Drinking water is available at the lodge, bring own container. Firewood, cold drinks & ice can all be purchased from the main lodge & daily activities can be booked. However use of the lodge facilities is permitted to fully inclusive Lodge guests only.

The camp site (S 20° 59.310' E 023° 41.905') is situated +/- 3 km from the main gate (S 21° 00.006' E 023° 41.085') of Haina Kalahari Lodge.

There are 5 camp sites under thorn trees and an ablution block with a double set of "flush" toilets and showers with hot and cold running water. No electricity is provided. A sink is provided for washing of dishes. Water is salty and cannot be used for drinking.

The main lodge (S 20° 56.966' E 023° 40.684') is +/- 3km from the camp site and drinks, ice and wood can be purchased here.

Getting There
We are in the heart of the Kalahari, bordering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve; about 3 hours drive from Deception Valley. The nearest village is Rakops, about 1hour 45 minute drive to the east and the most popular shopping facilities are at Maun, about 2 hours 30 minutes drive further north.

For self drives it is recommended that you make use of a four-by-four vehicle. For the more fainthearted who want to visit, Haina Kalahari Lodge offers a licensed public airstrip (S20,57 E 023,40), Licensed to a maximum of 5700KG, or fly in with accredited tour operators or air charters.
