Perth 178 Backpacker is a family owned hostel which can boast being the newest in Northbridge. It opened its doors in August 2011 and we have not looked back since.

Our hostel offers comfortable accommodation at an affordable price. It also offers the convenience of being situated in the heart of Northbridge where cafes, restaurants, pubs, night clubs and shops are literally just a few steps away.

The Perth CBD and its shopping malls are also just a walk away but you if do not feel like walking, you can catch the free buses that circle the CBD and Northbridge. We have a bus stop right in front of the hostel!

How To Get There:

By bus if you are in the CBD
You can catch the free Blue CAT bus to Stop number 13 (12934) on James Street. Blue Cat Route.
Please note that this service operates only during certain times of the day.
By bus from the East
Any bus travelling West on Great Eastern Highway will end up in one of the bus terminals in the CBD. From there catch the Blue CAT.
By car from the North
From the Mitchell Freeway, take the James Street offramp.
By car from the East
Take the Graham Farmer Freeway and exit at the James Street offramp.
By car from the South
Take the Kwinana freeway and exit at Charles street. Take a Right on to Fitzgerald street and then a left on to James Street. Perth CBD is about 12 kilometres from the International Airport.
