Magnificent Heritage Hotel

This family-friendly, country hotel is a huge 3 storey heritage building with a rich history dating all the way back to 1913.

In its early days, the Neath Hotel was popular with miners, with mining being a rapidly developing industry in the Hunter Valley at the time, it was the perfect place to go after a hard days work – and still is!

The Neath Hotel houses numerous historical artefacts from visitors along the way, including Harry Littlefair’s mining lamp and fuel container. Harry Littlefair was a miner who grew up in the Hunter Valley, he often enjoyed a cold beer at the Neath Hotel and left his lamp and fuel container at the hotel for safe keeping when he went off to fight in the war. Harry passed away in battle and his lamp still resides at the Neath Hotel today. Today, the Neath Hotel is family-friendly, with wheelchair access, a courtesy bus, restaurant, bar, accommodation and more!

We are Renee and Ben, your new publicans of the Neath Hotel since October 2012, we have been in the hospitality industry for over 15 years. We understand the importance of customer service and pride ourselves on exceptional customer service with an emphasis on friendly, country hospitality!

Accommoation

Here at the family-friendly Neath Hotel, you are welcome to stay in any of our homely guest rooms. There are single, queen, king and family rooms available, something for everyone! Stay in the village of Neath in the Hunter Valley, NSW. Please note that the hotel has no ensuite bathrooms

Take a tour round the vineyards and wineries, enjoy lovely meals prepared by our award-winning chef, relax in the beer garden or just come for the country hospitality!

Accommodation Features

Bedside table, lamp and wardrobe. Bathroom and toilets are shared, with separate facilities for men and women. Clean linen and towels are provided, as well as bodysoap and access to body wash. Other room features include a luggage table, oil heater, box/pedestal fan and spare pillows and blankets.

We offer shared bathroom facilities. There is no television or fridge in our accommodation, however we have a common area with a TV, tea and coffee, microwave, bar fridge and ironing facilities.

Functions

Celebrate your Birthday, Anniversary, Wedding or anything you like with a fully catered function to suit all of your needs. We have two function areas for a great celebration. We pride ourselves on our exceptional customer service and care for our members and guests, so no matter what you come to the Neath Hotel for, we can be confident you’ll be treated with welcoming country hospitality.

The Verandah can accommodate up to 120 people, or for larger functions, the Beer Garden capacity is 200 people. Catering is available to suit all dietary needs including gluten free, vegetarian and dairy free. We have a comprehensive menu, alternatively you can design your own menu with our chef.

Neath Hotel Restaurant

Choose from succulent seafood, decadent home made desserts and much more. Enjoy a range of amazing meals made by our award-winning chef, Paul. The restaurant can seat up to 60 people in air conditioned comfort, or relax in the beer garden which seats up to 120 people.

You can also take the food away with you, with take away being available in both the bar and restaurant, or order and pick up takeaway meals. The hotel has myriad features for you and your family to enjoy, set in a wonderful country hotel atmosphere. Relax in the beer garden, sipping on an ice cold beer, while the children play on our fun playground.

Directions to Neath Hotel

Plane

Cessnock Airport is the nearest gateway in the region that offers charter and helicopter flights only. Visitors from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane can take a flight going to Newcastle Airport for approximately an hour. Newcastle Airport which serves domestic flights is the second convenient gateway to reach Cessnock for an hour drive.

Trains and Buses

Take a train from Sydney Central going either to the stations in Maitland, Morisette or Newcastle. These three stations has connecting coaches going to Hunter Valley, Cessnock. Travel duration depends on the station prefered by passengers. It is advisable to check train timetables to plan ahead your journey.

Car

There are various routes from Sydney that could take you to Cessnock and the Hunter Valley Region. Drive north to Sydney Harbour Bridge and continue to the National Highway. Take the M1-Pacific Motorway going towards Newcastle and follow the M15 -Hunter Expressway until you reach the Lovedale Road exit. Visitors who are opt for wine tasting must have a reliable driver since the country has strict drinking laws that are policed throughout the region.
