We have had a lot of car clubs staying with us over the years as we are car enthusiasts ourselves. We have many international guests and visitors.

Comfortable, clean caring and our rates are economical.
This is a family run business for 9 years. We like people and fun!

We have a lot of entertainers staying here who have become like family, like John Williamson, Col Elliot, Rodney Rude, The Pricilla Show with Carl Otta, Gina Jeffries etc.

We always have a lot of fun with their stay and heaps of laughs. We have a lot of fun, this is a home away from home

Activities

Hunter Valley Gardens -Spanning over 60 acres, be amazed by the sensational sights, colours, and fragrances of the ten stunning feature gardens. Explore each garden one-by-one and enjoy an exciting journey through the thousands of flowers, trees, and shrubs with an air of discovery at every turn.

Moonshadow Cruises -Port Stephens whale and dolphin watching cruises - approx. 1 and a half hour drive from Hunter Valley Motel.

Hunter Valley Zoo -Hunter Valley Zoo has many of Australian and exotic animals. Take the family to feed the animals and relax in the picnic grounds.

Hunter Valley Wine Country

Cessnock -The southern gateway to the Hunter Valley wine region. Cessnock is a city with many clubs, pubs and restaurants. It is a useful place to stay if you are on a fairly tight budget for your wine country visit.

Pokolbin -is about six kilometres west of Cessnock and is the heart of wine country. It is surrounded by vineyards, wineries, resorts, guest houses and golf courses which add to the choice of restaurants and cafes in the Cessnock region.

Wollombi -is on the Great North Road, a back door to the Hunter Valley from Sydney. It is an old and pretty town established in 1820 and well worth the 60 kilometre return side-trip from Cessnock as a change from the vineyards. Unlike the Hunter wine area, which is set in rolling hills, Wollombi is in a wooded river valley.

The town is very small but it has several heritage buildings of sandstone and slab timber built in the 1820's.
Hunter Valley Wine Country has information offices in Cessnock and Branxton. They have free maps and brochures of the area, accommodation guides and information on local tour operators that run tours of the wineries.

Directions to Hunter Valley Motel

Plane

Cessnock Airport is the nearest gateway in the region that offers charter and helicopter flights only. Visitors from Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane can take a flight going to Newcastle Airport for approximately an hour. Newcastle Airport which serves domestic flights is the second convenient gateway to reach Cessnock for an hour drive.

Trains and Buses

Take a train from Sydney Central going either to the stations in Maitland, Morisette or Newcastle. These three stations has connecting coaches going to Hunter Valley, Cessnock. Travel duration depends on the station prefered by passengers. It is advisable to check train timetables to plan ahead your journey.

Car

There are various routes from Sydney that could take you to Cessnock and the Hunter Valley Region. Drive north to Sydney Harbour Bridge and continue to the National Highway. Take the M1-Pacific Motorway going towards Newcastle and take the exit Freemans Drive- B 82 going to Allandale Road. Visitors who are opt for wine tasting must have a reliable driver since the country has strict drinking laws that are policed throughout the region.
