Steve and Sally Douglas  celebrating 24 years. This  Cairns backpackers hostel provides a comfortable, clean alternative backpackeraccommodation with deluxe or budget doubles, single, twin, triple or four share rooms and 6 or 7 bed dorms.

Rooms

Deluxe Double Room- this larger private double room is designed for two people with one large bed. 

Budget Double room- standard double room smaller than the Deluxe Double, sleeps two persons in one bed. Free wifi,  fan cooled , fresh linen,  extra pillows, towels  duvets with  share bath room.

Twin room- this deluxe twin room has two single beds for two persons with free wifi, These private rooms have fresh linen and towels included, duvets, fan cooled with shared bathroom, air con.

Single room- a private single room contains one single bed and sleeps one person in privacy. These rooms have fridge, fresh linen, duvets and towels included, Free wifi, fan cooled with shared bathroom. 

Triple share dorm- you will love the extra space in these bright, airy rooms. Each room has three single beds with fresh linen, duvets  and shared bathrooms. 

Quad share dorm- this classic four share Queenslander style room features timber floors and wrap around windows as well as a ceiling fan with air con available for 3hours.

Travel and Tours

Great Barrier Reef-  is famous for having some of the best dive sights in the World is by far the biggest attraction in Cairns. There are numerous dive operators offering every thing from small sailing personalised one day trips, to multi-day live-aboard trips out to the furthest reaches of the reef islands  and Coral Sea.

Rainforest- a one day or overnight visit to the world Heritage Rainforest is a must. We have three great areas to explore. At the Daintree NP you will find Cape Tribulation where the rainforest meets the reef. Explore north of Cairns along the pristine coastline to the ancient rainforests.

Cairns Airport is the main gateway to Tropical North Queensland.  It is serviced by major international, national and state air carriers.  It boasts international, domestic and general aviation terminals. Cairns Airport offers both domestic and international flights. Airfield operations are 24 hours, and terminal operations including shops, cafes at both pre and post immigration points are open in accordance with flight schedules.

By Train
Offering passengers a comfortable and scenic way to view the inland coast of Queensland, the Sunlander travels return from Brisbane to Cairns three times per week. The Sunlander meanders its way through the scenic, lush countryside of inland coastal towns of Bundaberg and Gladstone through to the sub-tropical region in Mackay, Proserpine and Bowen, until reaching its final destination of Cairns.

Cairns is well serviced with marinas for boating enthusiasts. A rising number of overseas cruise ships call at the Cairns Seaport regularly. It is Australia's busiest cruise port with over 200 international and domestic cruise ship visits a year and provides a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and a 213 berth Marina accommodating a variety of cruising vessels, superyachts and reef vessels. Cairns Seaport offers extensive and experienced ship building and repair services offering some of the most experienced, quality assured luxury repair facilities for superyachts in the southern hemisphere.

By Road
You could hire a car from another city and depending on whether the facilities are available you can drop it off to the same provider when you arrive in Cairns. Otherwise, get an airport transfer from the nearest airport to where you are staying.
